Free flipped classroom careers lesson - Youth Unemployment, LMI & Skills

For those of you who have not come across the term flipped classroom before, A fairly reliable explanation can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flip_teaching

In short, it means giving pupils the 'instructional' part of the lesson to do at home in the form of video, podcast or powerpoint with narration, or some other method that I've not come across yet; I have, after all, only just had the time to train myself up to be able to put together a flipped lesson for myself.

The advantage, I believe, is that you get to spend the time with your pupils supporting them individually, being able to tailor their experience by their groupings, support materials etc, thus building in differentiation.

Not to labour the point, CEIAG is so individual that the flipped classroom is made for careers learning. To prove the point, I've uploaded a lesson to Sophia, one of the major online sites to create and share flipped classroom materials. The lesson can be found here http://www.sophia.org/tutorials/is-youth-unemployment-unavoidable-for-me

I've also created a group so that we can share flipped classroom resources. To be able to join the group you will need to register and contact me for the course code. I'm happy to share my work and would be grateful if you could share any flipped lessons you create with the group also.

Wordle: The flipped classroom for careers learning The lesson I've uploaded is called "I won't be unemployed, Will I?" A task looking at youth unemployment, LMI & employability skills. It includes a powerpoint with narration, a worksheet and an info sheet. I'm sure there are many ways it can be approached and I'd love to hear comments and receive constructive criticism.
